Crypto, your opinion requested.

I've tried to write something and erased it twice...Its really hard to not sound like an old guy when your an old guy. Hindsight is 20/20 is about all I got to say...We may end up with something the likes of which we can't wrap our heads around today but for right now Crypto is just far too volatile and sketchy as hell.
Yep, hindsight is 20/20. Many suffer from would'a, could'a, should'a . . . or Fear of Missing Out (aka FOMO). If I'd have dropped $10k on Microsoft in the early days, I'd be extremely well-off now! But really, 10k on this motley crew?

Of the OPs choices I say, somewhere in the middle. I don’t own it because I don’t understand it. I understand real estate. I own several parcels. My son understand all Cryptos and he owns that. He’s made enough to buy his dream retirement property in Alaska.

I bought .25 back in 2022 when it was around $20,000 for one. I’ve sold most of it off as it was going up but still have .05 or about $5,000 in it. I’m going to hold onto that for awhile. If it drops a bunch I might buy more. IMO it’s a purely speculative gamble.

I believe that the tech is good and useful.
I think bitcoin grabbed everyone’s attention, but if it doesn’t become useful, something more than a highly volatile ‘e-gold’, it will fall and be replaced by something else. That’s why there are so many coins, people want to try to catch the next thing.
Yes, I’m jealous of the folks that put small money into it years ago…hate those guys!

I'm not young (64), but it doesn't seem to be going away. Soo a modest investment on my part is the plan. I can't spend all my
extra cash on Burbon. ;)
As the fellow in the song said when asked about what happened to his millions. . . ."I spent most of it on women and whiskey. . . .and wasted the rest."

A scam used to be, "Give me your money and I'll give you this beautiful bridge in Brooklyn."
Now days it has gotten much simpler. "Give your money and I'll give you nothing."
Anyone trying such things should be given a semi-private bar protected room in a gated community with free meals and government security guards.
