From Here to Omaha - 2019 (College Baseball)

I will extend the offer to anyone that ends up in the Big "O"....
if you need to find some local flavors, lemme know... I can send you in the direction of "hidden gem" places to eat.... Omaha is a food town... things will be crazy the next 2 weeks... but whatever you want to eat you can find somewhere here... lots of old school and new school places for grub both sides of the river...

Affirmative on that - Omaha has great places to eat - I worked in that area in the fall of 1984 and there was no shortage of good restaurants. Wish I could afford to get up there for the CWS.

Did not have an opportunity to watch the first game today, but congratulations to Michigan. I did get to watch most of the Florida State - Arkansas game, and congratulations to Florida State. Two national seeds (Texas Tech and Arkansas) lose.

My wife and I enjoyed both games today, on tv. The cws, softball then baseball, and then the little league World Series, are things we like to watch together. Then we wait for college football. It’s a short wait!

Going into the bottom of the 9th last night, trailing 4 - 1, my Bulldogs wound up with an improbable 5-4 walkoff win. Auburn played well, and it looked like it they were in control. After two innings when we had the bases loaded, and could not score, I got disgusted, turned off the TV, and prepared to retire for the night. My sister, who lives in Auburn and is an Auburn fan, texted me about the "great comeback" (her words). First I knew of it. There has been plenty of talk about it today on the local sports radio shows. Tough loss for Auburn.

Texas Tech is leading Arkansas 5-4 in the top of the 9th, but Arkansas has two on with nobody out. Loser goes home. Hope to watch some the Michigan - Florida State game tonight.

Razorbacks coming home empty handed. Missed their chance last
year when no one wanted to catch a pop fly.

Louisville - Auburn elimination game delayed (rain) until maybe later tonight or tomorrow, with Louisville leading 4 to 1. State - Vandy game scheduled for tonight postponed until tomorrow, maybe at 1:00 pm. Bummer.

Michigan in the driver's seat in their bracket after beating Florida State last night.

I have witnessed some exceptional baseball.

All the remaining teams are capable, want it and mean bidness.

It will sadly be over soon but I have the LLWS in the on deck circle which I enjoy the most.

My work has prevented me from keeping up with this as much as I had hoped. My Bulldogs were eliminated Wednesday, losing to Louisville. Disappointing, but still a good season.

Congratulations to Vandy and Michigan for making the finals. SEC v. Big 10.

Last night I was rooting for Louisville until Luke Smith did what he did after his last strikeout in the 8th. I instantly became a Vandy fan.

He lit a fire that burned him an inning later.

Go B1G!

I spent time today visiting a lot of the Vegas online betting houses. This is a general consensus of what da bookies tink.

Super Regionals Predictions:

UCLA-Oregon State

Oklahoma State-Texas Tech

Arkansas-Illinois

Arizona State-Georgia

Vanderbilt-Texas A&M

East Carolina-Louisville

Mississippi State-Fresno State

North Carolina-Auburn

College World Series Prediction:

Vanderbilt over Arkansas

You might well be half right on your prediction, but how about this Michigan bunch? They sure look hungry for that trophy. I look for a hard fought game tonight.

Game 1 was an adrenaline pumper. I held off B1G chest pounding as we all know how unpredictable baseball is.

Sure enough, in game 2, someone doctored the Michigan hurlers' Gatorade and all they could find was the backstop.

I certainly hope for a better outcome tonight.

I have been using the CC mode as I can't take another second of the two Vandy whistlers.

well... it is winding down here in Omaha... will know the winner in a bit... both teams in the final game deserve to be there....
the Lord willing and the river don't rise... like the river listens, it has been out of its banks since March... River might be back where it is "supposed" to be by Christmas... anyway... come and visit Omaha, I will offer my "guide" services to anyone that wants a hint or two from a local...

Don't blame you one bit - not many care for the Vandy "whistlers" - I don't think they help Vandy much, and make it unpleasant for most fans - not that Vandy needs any help - they appear to be in control in the 7th. I congratulate Michigan for getting to the championship series. They put away three teams - Arkansas, Florida State and Texas Tech, all from warmer climates to get there. Guess the B1G is relevant in college baseball again.

Whistlers sure are annoying.

They are a real joy live.
