A mass shooting was averted.

Takeaways from this report: the shooter was recognized quickly by their behavior (reckless driving), with confirmation from the attire and rifle. The parishioner who hit him with the truck absolutely broke the shooter’s OODA loop, everyone has a plan until they get hit and the pickup is better at absorbing bullets than any person. The church security team was 100% on point and this demonstrates the need for armed, ready responders-what if he doesn’t get bogged down in the parking lot?

Sad that churches need to have security teams, they did a really good job.
Whenever our Church gets a new Pastor the Security Team changes. Previously Pastor was okay with the Security Team being armed but the new Pastor wants unarmed and just a show of force.

Fortunately the current Security Team knows who are the conceal carriers are.

Turn the other cheek and get shot. It's not about 'striking' anymore.

Sadly this country has far to many mentally ill roaming the streets, gone are the insane institutions they were kept in in the past. Also many of these individuals have criminal intent and society as a whole pays. Some of these individuals decide to prey instead of pray in churches. Situation that needs correcting in a humane manner seeing that computers and now AI should be able to take care of issue.

Tough to show force if you’re unarmed and the bad guy is. I’ve carried in church for years after having a long talk about it with my priest. His exact words “Pray, pray, pray, but carry”.
