Just curious as to whether anyone has any experience with either of these fluted rounds, specifically in a Bodyguard 2.0? I have carried Underwood Extreme Defender for years in some of my other EDC’s - I’m a fan of the concept - but haven’t had a flawless experience with it feeding in my BG 2.0. The ARX-produced projectile looks to me to have less sharp points to catch on feed ramps, but I’ve never bought either of the above-named ammo. Your experience and thoughts?

I've had a few of the Underwood Extreme Defender hang up while loading, so I won't carry it.
That has been my experience too. I just polished my feed ramp but I haven’t had a chance to get back to the range to see if it will make the difference. I would love to carry some kind of fluted bullet in this gun given the inconsistency of hollow points opening up in a .380, thus the reason for this thread.

I have used the Ruger ARX, Inceptor ARX and NovX in both .380 and 9mm. All of the ammo was soft shooting and the shape of the bullets was close enough to round-nose to feed reliably. I shot the .380 ammo in a Remington (Rohrbough) RM380 and S&W 380 EZ. At that time, my wife was having a lot of feeding problems with her 380 EZ, but never with the ARX-style bullets.

I will echo the above re: ARX projectiles in 380acp, 9mm, 40 S&W & 45acp. They all have functioned perfectly in my reloading experiences. Reduced recoil and impressive velocities in these light for caliber loadings: load data readily available.

Cheers!

I did my usual barrier test with some NOVX out of a Glock 42, and it went to pieces. An Underwood XD round sailed right through the same array. Some people don't worry about barrier penetration with .380. If that is not important to you, NOVX may be OK. (In 9mm out of a Sig P365, the round was impressive against the array.)

Removing the burr from the early BG2's and polishing the ramp has proven Underwood's fluted coppers perfect for me . I only experienced one/two hang-ups in 250 rounds previous to that anyway. Also started loading the Pez into its dispenser like this too.
