625 on 625

For some reason, I think .45 ACP messes up the revolver more than .38 Spl / .357 mag.
At first I thought my 625-3 was getting dirty because of the self-loading cartridges, but now I've fired hundreds of factory cartridges with it and the revolver is always the same black.
Fortunately, cleaning is easy, on the track WD40 on the surface, at home cleaning with cleaning cloths containing alcohol and then treatment with gun oil.

Polished stainless steel revolvers are more work because I want them to shine after cleaning
Hello Taroman, No offense - but I will not allow anyone to put WD-40 on anything I own. It eventually turns dark, gets sticky - & hard to Remove + can even promote rust. I messed up a nice table saw & drill press using it. It also has a nauseating odor. I have much better overall results using MOBIL 1 to lubricate & wipe.
Best Wishes, C.

Nice 625's all! All I have is a 625-8 JM. For my Colt side have a 25-15. Do also have another brand revolver in 45 Convertible. 45 is 1 of my favorite calibers be it revolver or semi auto pistol. Bob

Adios,

Here is my S&W (1917) 1937 Brazil contract .45acp DA. It was delivered to Brazil the Month & Year of my birth (1946).
Consequently showing only surface storage wear, & like new mechanically. I have the original grips - but prefer the Magna grips, & use full moon clips.
I could afford it because it was mistakenly listed as a surplus Victory, & languished a few months on G.B.- before I recognized it, & made the lucky offer of the cash I had to spend - that was excepted. IT WAS FATE, I LOVE IT.
