I think I did ok for $700. I got 52 rounds of ammo. The stocks show a little wear but I’m happy either way. How much is a good pair of stocks for her

They do. The Nickel 586 was purchased by my MIL when she was a dispatcher for the local Sheriff's office as they transitioned to autos. She never shot it and after a few years I acquired it. It has a great action and is very accurate. I would never sell it.

I am pretty happy! Now a days polymer wonder's cost $700..... I really have grown extremely fond of older Smith and Wesson's..... I thought my 1911 addiction was a problem!

The L-Frames are my favorite .357s. I started carrying a 586 shortly after their introduction. Beautifully finished, smooth action; just no complaints. It went to a friend only because I just had to have one of the new stainless 686s. I carried that one till semi-autos were approved by my employer in the mid '80s. I think I'll always have an L-frame or two around..

Very nice! My lovely wife got me a 586 ND 4 inch for Christmas two years ago.

Here it is after a range trip with the 3 inch Python:

It’s a very good shooter with an exceptional trigger.

ETA - I used to have a nickel 586 4 inch and stupidity sold it years ago.
