Given the other modifications, it was likely modified to a round butt grip frame at the same time. The 29-2 was only made with a square butt frame. The serial number should have six digits and puts it as a later -2.

Your Model 29-2 was most likely originally shipped in 1981. It may have been customized at the time it was ported as Mag-Na-Port Arms offered customizing and refinishing of handguns.

I read the serial number wrong. It has been updated. I also got 1 pic to post (I have trouble with pics.....)

I assumed the serial number was in the N860000 range. The 29-2 looks like something Mag-Na-Port Arms could have done.

I bet that thing is a flamethrower with full house .44 mag loads! Don't worry, your eyebrows will grow back eventually.

If you don't put a big hole in the bad guy with that, it will scare him to death with the muzzle blast. I'll bet that thing is a beast to shoot.

I previously owned a 3" Mod. 29 that was Mag-Na-Ported. When I shot it indoors or outside, at dusk, my hands disappeared into a ball of flame the size of a basketball! It was fantastic and always drew a crowd!

Or maybe a 'dandy'. Lots of posers reading Gun Magazines forty years ago.

A 'shooter' would have put rubber grips on it. Also it may have been holstered but I am guessing the round count will be very low.
