So, I have a 52-2, that is matte finished. It came with box, correct serial number on box, marked "B" finish. Also has 4 magazines matte finished too. The finish is very good, really appears Factory done. All stamping and S&W logo look very good, well, the 52-2 stamp looks heavy. IF is was sent back to S&W for refinish, would it have gone to performance center or custom shop?
It serial numbers to 1976-77 production. A Friend said it may be a Devel finished gun. No markings under grips, only markings are
"T" on left side front of trigger housing, and "F", on left front underside side of magwell. Any information or advice on how I can document this pistol is appreciated.
