Offered for sale is this very rare UIT style (International) target grips. These grips fit S&W N-Frame, which is unusual for UIT grips, most being made for K/L frame.
These grips were made in the 1950s-1960s by John Paul “Fitz” Jones. They are sized R/H medium.
They are made of fine grain light walnut. They are in amazing condition, especially for their age! The checkering, in particular, is excellent being sharp and damage free.
The grip design fully encloses the grip frame and is shaped to allow for the highest possible grip. The extension over the web of the hand is even recessed to allow for the cocked hammer.
For photographic purposes, the grips are shown installed on a 29-2 (obviously not included in the sale!)
UIT style grips for S&W revolvers are hard to find, and today are only made by European makers such as Nill, Rink, and Morini. Typically, these newer grips are priced around 300 Euros.
