Model 52, loading RN or SWC bullets

Several years ago I did try some recent Remington manufacture .38 Short Colt out of my Model 52, and it ran without any problems in feeding or ejecting. I never did any serious accuracy work with it, but it was all 9 ring or better at 25 yards out of my gun. The .38 spl case is listed at 1.155...

Came across this while re-arranging the workshop and looking for other items; must have been a match prize or something, 'cause it's not anything I would have bought!:)

Other than guns, let's see your "other" S&W stuff....

Left Over from days long ago..... Here's an oldie that still works from the 1980's. In addition to this, somewhere in a box downstairs is a GOEC (S&W) mace canister w/ holster and a pair of handcuffs, too. Will post a pic if I can find them.

    Help with 20rd M59 magazine....

The one for the small frame guns has 2 stops; the first stop (higher up the front of the magazine) keeps it from seating all the way to the magazine catch notch on large frame guns. The one for the large frame guns has only one stop. If you place them side by side, you'll see that they simply...

    Browning Hi Power Clones

A seldom seen variation (at least in my experience) Here's a variation that is the only one which I've encountered, although I'm sure there are plenty of them around - the Ishapore Mk IA. I picked this up many years ago to begin my experience with the Hi-Power, but never fired it after picking...

    Matte black Model 19-5

I know of at least 4 DSS 19-5 2.5" that had ANR prefixes. Most had Pachmayr RB grips. I would consider getting a letter. My lettered DSS gun has an ANP prefix. FWIW

    S&W 17-2 5 Inch Barrel

For comparison Below is a picture of a 5" 38 barrel which I purchased and which is at my gunsmith's right now, replacing the barrel on a 6' barrelled narrow rib gun which had suffered severe exterior pitting from a previous owner. The position of the roll marks, and their relationship to the...

    Model 64 Tapered Barrel

This is the one they should have made..... While I also have one of the original Model 64 no dash square butt guns, many years ago I located a tapered barrel on an auction site and purchased a Model 64-2 2" round butt gun to have modified. The renowned late gunsmith Jerry Keefer installed the...

    Grooved front and backstrap M&P

Nice! Lee, Thanks for posting those - I knew I'd seen/heard of there being factory fixed sight guns like yours, but couldn't track down any posts to confirm it. I'm guessing that they would fall into the same general category of other special mods like humpback hammers - uncommon, but not...

    Grooved front and backstrap M&P

Bruce, That's one nice job they did on that one - I'll bet it feels good in the hand. The one that I'm talking about has the traditional 6-groves on the frontstrap and backstrap, more like the early K-38s, but without the adjustable rear sight though. I could swear I read about one in a post...
