Decision on What SW 44 Magnum to Buy

Love my 5" 629s For hunting I'll typically grab the 6" or 6.5" PowerPoint. For hiking or day to day carry, 5" all day every day. For me, the 5" is the perfect match of weight and balance.

    S&W Performance Center 10mm & Hardcast Ammo

Thanks. Obviously off sandbags and w a holosun mounted on a CH Precision optic plate. The factory optic plate was inconsistent at best. 1" was 180 gr nosler JHPs but the hornady HAP and XTPs were not far off using the same load of Longshot. Chronograph average: 1220 fps.

    S&W Performance Center 10mm & Hardcast Ammo

    180gr over longshot 5 shots 1" @ 25yards.

    S&W Performance Center 10mm & Hardcast Ammo

Look at the Hornady HAPs. They're essentially the XTP w/o the serrations. May be an alternative to hard cast. Neither are meant to expand. The HAP isn't an FMJ but meant to feed reliably and you can push it hard w/o worrying about leading. If a load is accurate w/ the HAP, very good chance...

    Resizing 10mm Brass

Is there an aftermarket barrel that has a supported chamber?

    S&W Performance Center 10mm & Hardcast Ammo

Galloway Precision makes stainless steel guide rods that work on this model. From what I have read, stock is around 17 lbs, which seems light if the intent is to always run solid 10mm loads. I'm running a 24 lb recoil spring in my PC, works fine, reduces recoil, and has to help save the frame...

    Performance Center M&P 2.O, 10MM. questions

Tisas are very good value for the money. Grabagun had Yukons on sale for a ridiculous price and a friend picked up one. Like potato chips, can't have just one. My Nighstalker SF in 10mm just eats, super accurate. All my Tisas have ed brown trigger kits and are money. Still mostly carry the...

    45 Shield, 2.0 or not?

I have one that is marked 2.0, one that was not. Fantastic little pocket cannon. Can't say it enough, match the ammo to the firearm. A polymer, lightweight, short barreled 45 is NOT a midsize or full size. The ammo I shoot in my mid/full size M&Ps or 1911s is NOT what I shoot out of my Shield...

    FPC 10mm

LGS had these in stock that I was able to handle. First time I've every held an FPC. Like noted, felt a little buttstock heavy w/ two unloaded mags. Can imagine that gets worse if they're full. Spring was heavy as expected. Was curious about the length of pull as it is not adjustable and...

    FPC 10mm

I'd be curious if the 9mm and 40 share the same frame. They should like the regular M&Ps. The 45 and 10mm share the same M&P frame. Would make sense why the 10mm came first being they already had the barrel from the 40, just need to rechamber and add a heavier buffer spring.

When they say crossbolt safety, is that the tab straight up from the mag release by the bolt?

    1854 Stealth 44mag accuracy report??

What loads were you using? My Henry Big Boy X in 44 mag shoots 1" @ 50 yards w/ Hornady 240 XTPs over H110. Haven't shot for group @ 100 yards mostly because that's not what I intend it for. It's sighted in at 50 yards, but would have no issue reaching out to 100 if needed.

    S&W model 1006 prices

Just saw a 1076 at the LGS. Price was $950. Don't know what all came with it.

My new M&P 10mm PC came in yesterday

I'm running Hornady 180 gr HAPS, XTPs, and Nosler 180 JHPs over longshot. Getting 1-1.5" @ 25 yards. They're pushing 1200+ fps. Biggest difference was going to the CH Precision optic mount. Groups were erratic w/ the stock plastic mount.

New Hornady "Backcountry Defense" DGH 10mm -- Solution for M&P 10mm issues?

Looks like the Hornady HAP, which I've wondered could be used for both target and woods. Looks identical to the XTP but no serrations to facilitate expansion.
