Recently acquired an interesting piece from a friend in Salmon, ID before we relocated to WI.
Some called it the "Alaskan" model due to oversized trigger and trigger guard, but this is not correct.
Here is some info I found that will give more detail:
A rare Colt M1902 Philippine model...
Larry,
Thanks for the call today, I have not been on the forum for several weeks with getting settled into the new/old place in Wisconsin.
I am sorry to hear of these medical issues and hoping the treatments go well for you.
Keep us posted on how the PET scan goes.
Your friend,
Tom
I am told that coming from Richards and Conover is a good thing.....so I am glad to know where it went from the factory. Will be icing on the cake to find out where it went from there, but not holding my breath.
We are packing up for our move to WI so no time to go out and shoot it but will...
I reached out to the historical society in Kansas City
(Got a tip from a Colt forum member)
Apparently they have a large amount of records in their archives containing invoices, etc. and there is a chance they may have a record of who purchased this Colt back in 1901
Will certainly update...
UPDATE
I received a call this morning from a fellow at the Colt Archives and this one DID NOT ship to Copper Queen
He told me that is left the factory on 10/16/1901 as a 7-1/2" Blue .44-40 and when to Richards and Conover in Kansas City, MO and was one of two guns shipped to them that day.
So...
Nice find my friend, congrats!
I have only two Colt's SAA's in my current inventory.....a 7.5" 2nd Gen in .357 Mag and a recently acquired 1901 production FRONTER SIX SHOOTER that I just sent off for a letter on.
Thought this one might be of interest....
This is a recent local find (including the knife) and I just sent off for a letter on it and the serial number falls within the range of the many guns shipped to the famous Copper Queen Mine in Bisbee, AZ.....so fingers crossed!
It is in original...
Bump with one and only price reduction on this fine shooting Glock!
Will give a little more time for fresh eyes.
**NOTE**
My asking price is very fair and has not been inflated based on Ken's ownership.
If you have one for sale please PM or Email me with your offer.
Include your name and a phone number.
Prefer a stainless, but will consider blue.
Thanks in advance!
